OurVillage in Cameroon is a GIZ-funded project in rural communities in North-West Cameroon. BSEL's task is to monitor and evaluate the introduction of the blockchain-based community currency in terms of systemic resilience, risk and socio-economic impacts. The digital community currency can only be used within a given village. The team has developed an analytical framework for unbacked community currencies, conducts surveys and comparative analysis as well as qualitative field interviews in the Cameroonian communities.
